The Katie Trunk and Merry Christmas

Hello Friends! Hope you are enjoying the Holidays! Just one more week and you will get to sleep! That is how we are feeling lately but we wanted to finish this trunk thinking it would be perfect to house all the new toys that will be opened this Christmas! It would also be great at the end of a bed or used as a coffee table. Finished in gunmetal grey and distressed to add character this piece is very unique. It has original vintage casters and brass trim on the corners. I love this piece, can you tell?!

We also want to say thank you for all the support and encouragement we received for the Modern Shed! We are excited to see what 2011 brings us.

P.S. Are those not the cutest wing back chairs you have ever seen! I found them for a steal at GoodWill!!!! I surprised Lindsay with them because if she was a chair she would look that that! Now they are sitting pretty in her beautiful home

She's a Beaut!

Does this dresser make you smile? It makes Lindsay and I smile! What a charming piece! This was an antique Drexel Heritage dresser that we painted a light cream and added some extra charm with some stain. The hardware is original with ornate detail. I didn't put anything on it for staging because I think it makes a statement by itself. It's like a naturally beautiful girl putting on makeup....no need right! Happy Holidays!

Mirror Mirror...

Hello Everyone! Today we are finishing a beautiful antique dresser with loads of charm. I thought I would give you a few pic's of another project we just finished to hold you over until we have dresser pic's! This is a sweet mirror that makes a presence in any room. It is painted a soft gray with added distressing of course. The close up pictures show the ornate detail of the frame. Have a great weekend!

Meet Peter

He is a handsome little guy. When we saw the detail of this table, we had to snatch it up knowing the end result would be great! Finished in a soft blue with heavy distressing, with the original hardware and casters, this piece would add tons of charm to any decor!

Happy Holidays,

The Newest Addition!

I know I say this every time, but I really think this piece is my favorite! I think it is so so charming. The paint is a cool gray/white, which looks great with the newly upholstered brown velvet cushions! With just a bit of distressing in all the right places and the fantastic canning, this piece will add character in any house. Let us know if you just have to have it.

Lizbeth

This unique piece screamed to us when we saw it in its sad state. She isn't sad anymore! With a perfect gray color and some stain, she is now a regal piece of art. You could use her as a coffee table or even a bench. Anywhere she goes she will make a statement! Check out all the detail molding!!! You just don't find that anymore!

Hello Handsome

This guy doesn't even need an introduction! His name is Isak. He is a mid century modern china hutch built out of solid wood with glass doors in perfect condition!

Its More Than a Bench!

She is a bit more than just a bench! This is by far my most favorite piece we have done. The transformation was amazing! We picked a light Robbin egg blue color, distressed and then dry wiped a stain on top to age it. It came to life doing it. If Lindsay or I had room in our homes we wouldn't be selling it! Let me know if you want to be the lucky one to have this in your entryway...

Drum Roll Please.....!

Remember this sad little chair waiting for some TLC?

Its not so sad anymore!

This chair turned out amazing if we don't say so ourselves! With the perfect white paint, added distressing then staining to make this piece look like its been in the family forever. Heather reupholstered the seat in a yummy light gray crushed velvet.
This chair will sell fast, so if you love it contact us.

Second Piece of the day..Take a Seat!

We named theses the Griffy Benches...yes "these." The picture only shows one bench, but we did two exactly the same! 2 is better than 1! These were fun to do. The paint color alone was so cool! It is a perfect barn red that to us acts just like a neutral. After painting it, we went crazy with the sander to add tons of character. As you can see, I already could imagine it in my entry way, but Lindsay and I don't keep every piece we love or our homes would look like a furniture store!

Taaaa daaaaaa!

Wow...what a busy day Lindsay and I have had! We painted from sunup to sundown. It was so productive and fun of course. If the last post kept you guessing, keep guessing because we won't post that piece until tomorrow, Sorry. Here are two pieces that did make the cut for today's posts. Hope you like! And if you like them so much that you want to buy them...just let us know.

I love this bookcase. It is such a simple piece that would go good just about anywhere you could imagine. I thought about it in a bathroom with baskets and fresh towels, in a kids room with toys, or even for the traditional use of books. I think the cute little feet add so much character to the piece, while the yummy gray is anything but neutral.

Inspiration!

One of the next pieces Lindsay and I are tackling came from inspiration from these photos. Can you guess what it is? Enjoy the pictures, and thanks for stoppin' by our blog!
